Dramatic Recoveries from Serious Brain Injuries Prove Fish Oils Omega-3 Brain Health Effectiveness

Dramatic Recoveries from Serious Brain Injuries Prove Fish Oils Omega-3 Brain Health Effectiveness

(The Best Years in Life) In March 2010, high school student Bobby Ghassemi was taken out of his crashed vehicle and airlifted to a nearby Virginia hospital more dead than alive with severe brain trauma.

He was so much more dead than alive that the physician who eventually advised the Ghassemi family on using fish oil, Dr. Michael Lewis said, "For all intents and purposes, he was dead on the scene. I'm looking at the reports, and they report a Glasgow Coma Score of three. A brick or piece of wood has a Glascow Coma Score of three. It's dead."

Bobby was placed in intensive care in a coma with all the apparatus possible to keep him a breath from death. His brain was flooded with blood and a hole had to be put into his skull to relieve some of the pressure.

The hospital's physicians commented that his brain injury was so bad, it was a wonder that he was alive enough to be in a coma. They told Bobby's father and mother it was doubtful he'd be more than a vegetable if he came out of the coma. He'd be unable to speak or recognize his family.  Read More.

The fresh ginger in this recipe adds a zingy, fresh bite to this creamy and naturally sweet treat - and it includes instructions for "the ginger secret" of being able to make perfect grated ginger. Freeze fresh, local strawberries or buy a bag of frozen strawberries. But pretty please, get organic strawberries. Conventionally grown berries are very high in pesticide residue. Plan a Victory Garden and Reunite with Humanity

Plan a Victory Garden and Reunite with Humanity

(The Best Years in LifeNow is the time to celebrate the earth's awakening by planning a victory garden, and join the thousands of people reuniting with nature while embracing healthy living. Victory gardens were last seen at the end of the World War II, and today are making a comeback because they have come to represent our fight to regain control of our lives, our health and our independence. They represent re-dedication to membership in humanity and the need to make sure all people have access to high quality food. There is no better time than now to take out paper and pencil and begin planning the placement, layout, and content of your garden. By the time your plan is complete, the earth will be warmed enough for planting.  Read More.

Natural Remedies for Parasites

 Natural Remedies for Parasites
Written and Compiled by Tony Isaacs

According to the World Health Organization, 3.5 billion people suffer from some type of parasitic infection. Not all of these people live in third world countries; many in the developed world have any number of parasitic infections, some of which are so highly contagious that extremely casual contact with something that has been handled by an infected person can infect another person.

It is extremely easy to contract a parasite infection. Contaminated water is one source of infection. Improperly washed or undercooked food is a common means of infection. Transmission from pets is another. Contact with another infected person is also a common route of infection. Travel can escalate the risks. Antibiotics pose another problem because they interfere with normal intestinal flora, some which tend to control certain types of infection.

Acute parasite infection is usually characterized by greater or lesser abdominal distress and diarrhea, often urgent and attended by burning sensations and tremendous fluid loss. Only rarely is there any visible evidence of infection. Moreover, many laboratories fail to detect the presence of parasites even when presented with specimens from infected persons. It is therefore sometimes necessary for the patient to determine whether infection is likely and to self-administer some remedy since allopathic medicine requires a diagnosis before prescriptions can be written.  Read More.

How the FDA Turned a $10 Treatment into a $1500 Money-Maker for a Sanctioned Drug Company

How the FDA Turned a $10 Treatment into a $1500 Money-Maker for a Sanctioned Drug Company
by Tony Isaacs

(The Best Years in Life) What's a poor faltering drug company to do when it has been busted for misdeeds, its shareholders are up in arms and its former CEO has been fined, sent to jail and banned from the industry? In the case of KV Pharmaceutical, the answer was to get the FDA to give the company exclusive rights to a common generic drug for expectant mothers and raise the price from $10 per treatment to $1500 - a decision which has outraged doctors, US senators, and even the March of Dimes.

Last year, the FDA made an eyebrow-raising decision to give exclusive rights to the generic drug to KV Pharmaceutical after declaring the drug to be an "orphan drug". As a consequence, low-income mothers and their babies will be put in grave jeopardy and a huge financial burden will be created for the health insurance companies, private citizens, and government programs that have to pay for it.  Read More.

A Rousing Call to Small: 20 Small Things You Can Do to Make a Difference

A Rousing Call to Small: 20 Small Things You Can Do to Make a Difference

(The Best Years in LifeAre you frustrated about not having the world you want, and not knowing what to do to make it change? You're not alone. In 1976 Peter Finch played the lead in the movie Network, rousing people to stand up and proclaim they were mad as hell and wouldn't take it any more --the tyranny, oppression, and humiliation enforced by the powers-that-be. Thirty seven years later, people are still madder than hell, and most still feel unheard and belittled by the Machine.

Ghandi is purported to have said Be the change you want to see in the world. If you're tired of fighting the system and afraid of what the system will do next, take a stand to commit small steps each day to help yourself evolve into The Change you dream about.

Most people think they have to do something monumental to make a difference -- lead a country, start a movement, write the Great American Novel. Not true! Most people can live their dreams by taking small, less intimidating actions -- regularly. As water dripping repeatedly erodes a boulder, the continual repetition of right action undermines intimidation and builds a foundation for change.  Read More.

Make Your Own Safe, Natural and Healthy Tooth Pastes and Tooth Cleansers

Make Your Own Safe, Natural and Healthy Tooth Pastes and Tooth Cleansers
by Tony Isaacs

(The Best Years in Life) Virtually all commercial toothpastes contain one or both of two problematic ingredients: fluoride and glycerin. Fluoride, a mining by-product, is one of the bigger scams perpetrated on an unwitting public. Instead of being beneficial it actually is damages teeth. Glycerin coats the enamel and prevents natural re-mineralization of teeth. The solution in avoiding those two items may be making your own tooth paste or tooth cleanser at home.

Here are some recipes you can make at home which contain neither fluoride or glycerin:  Read More.

Low Cost Natural Treatment and Prevention for Cancer

Low Cost Natural Treatment and Prevention for Cancer

(The Best Years in LifeGiven all the hype about a search for the cure and buying pink ribbon items, you probably think the cure for cancer has yet to be discovered. That's what the drug companies that receive money from pink ribbon sales would like you to think, but this is far from the truth. An easy, inexpensive, well proven, documented, and highly effective cure for cancer has existed for over fifty years.

Why haven't you heard about this before? This cure is completely natural, and it is easily accessible to everyone. Natural substances cannot be patented by drug companies, and there are no windfall profits to be made from them. If knowledge of this cure became mainstream, the exorbitant amounts charged for the toxic treatments used by the medical establishment would be threatened. If this cure became widely known, no one would ever again consent to surgery, radiation or chemotherapy. As a result, this cure has been fiercely suppressed. The cancer industry in the U.S. is big business at its worst.  Read More.

Common Symptoms and Signs of Adrenal Fatigue - Is This You?

Common Symptoms and Signs of Adrenal Fatigue - Is This You?
by JB Bardot

(The Best Years in Life) Adrenal fatigue is characterized by a constellation of symptoms that may occur when an individual's adrenal glands are not functioning to their fullest potential. Do you know the symptoms? The adrenal glands are located just above the kidneys and produce over 50 hormones necessary to life. Adrenal fatigue syndrome is not recognized by mainstream doctors; however, alternative healthcare practitioners acknowledge the effects of adrenal fatigue and recognize this syndrome as a precursor to early adrenal insufficiency. Adrenal fatigue is very common and can mimic other health conditions, such as hypothyroidism or chronic fatigue syndrome. Consult with your natural health practitioner before self-treating.  Read More.

Ten Herbs and Spices That Want to Make You Healthy

Ten Herbs and Spices That Want to Make You Healthy

(The Best Years in Life) Spices do more than make food taste great. Recent research is showing that the common spices you probably have in your kitchen can reduce signs of aging, inhibit degenerative disease, and promote health and wellbeing. The Mediterranean diet, so often associated with good health and lack of disease, relies heavily on the use of spices. But you don’t have to follow the Mediterranean way of eating to gain the amazing health benefits these inexpensive flavor boosters have to offer.

Spices have been highly valued throughout history. In 2300 B.C. Spices were the currency that sent adventurers across unknown oceans to find new trade routes. In 1983, the British discovered that powdered ginger is twice as effective as Dramamine in preventing motion sickness. This discovery marked the beginning of spices being scientifically evaluated in terms of their health benefits. And what researchers have found is truly amazing.  Read More.

FDA analysis finds lead in all 400 lipstick products tested

FDA analysis finds lead in all 400 lipstick products tested

by Tony Isaacs

(The Best Years in Life) An analysis commissioned by the FDA of 400 popular lipstick products has alarmingly found at least some lead in every single product. The amount of lead found in 380 of the lipstick products tested was greater than the maximum 0.1 parts per million (ppm) allowed in candy bars - in some instances as much as 70 times greater. However, the FDA stated that it did not consider the lead content to represent any danger because lipstick is not intended to be ingested.

Apparently, the FDA chose to ignore the obvious fact that eating, kissing or drinking with lipstick can lead to ingestion of some of the lipstick. Likewise, the FDA also chose to overlook the fact of how easily items are absorbed into the skin - which is why so many medications are applied transdermally in skin patches, creams and oils. One obvious example is the nicotine patch used to help wean smokers from cigarettes.  Read More.

Hiding the Truth About Losing the War on Cancer

Hiding the Truth About Losing the War on Cancer

by Tony M. Isaacs

For well over half a century mainstream medicine has regularly promised us that a cure or major breakthrough for cancer was just around the corner. Every year we see "promising" new drugs and therapies announced. Yet every year we also see more people contract cancer and more people die of cancer. Despite all the rosy announcements, statistical juggling and outright deceptions, it should be painfully obvious that the "War on Cancer" has been a losing one.

Instead of focusing on natural and safe methods of prevention and treatment, we continue to treat by using surgery, chemotherapy and radiation to cut out, poison out and burn out the symptoms of cancer while leaving the underlying causes untreated - and we continue to largely ignore the role that proper diet, nutrition and lifestyle plays in preventing and helping cure cancer.  Read More.

Better Sleep with Twilight

 Better Sleep with Twilight

(The Best Years in Life) Before the Industrial Revolution, when night arrived, the sky darkened. This was conducive to sleep, and our natural circadian rhythms. With the increased use of electricity and electric lights, we turn our nights into days and prevent sleep. Over two-third of Americans suffer from sleep problems. And medicine has now determined that loss of sleep can lead to depression, diabetes, obesity and cancer. More than half of all alcoholics have sleep issues, begs the question of which came first.

Melatonin is a natural hormone that your body uses to regulate sleep cycles. Melatonin is triggered by exposure to light. The natural rhythms of the day are regulated by the pineal gland in what is called Circadian rhythms. Circadian rhythms are the body’s biological clock. The sensor is in the suprachiasmatic nucleus or SCN, in the brain. It is made up of 20,000 neurons in the hypothalamus. Signals are sent to the pineal gland when it is exposed to light. Since the body’s natural melatonin production slows in the dark, the advent of darkness triggers the sleep cycle to begin. But, when we keep exposure to lights during dark hours of the night, we interrupt the circadian rhythms, preventing the production of melatonin, upsetting the internal clock and preventing sleep.   Read More.

Join the Juicing Revolution for Radical Health Improvement and Weight Loss

Join the Juicing Revolution for Radical Health Improvement and Weight Loss

(The Best Years in LifeIt seems each or every other generation has had a juicing revolution led by one individual. Arnold Ehret, author of the Mucousless Diet may have been the first to introduce European juicing machines for juicing veggies and fruits to America during the early 20th Century.

Then a few decades later came Paul Bragg and Jack LaLanne, both championing raw food diets and juicing while promoting their juicers. But none of them proposed an extreme raw fruit and veggie juice fast for a long period to create a drastic change in health.

Iodine Protects Against Breast Cancer

 Iodine Protects Against Breast Cancer

(The Best Years in Life) Iodine is an overlooked mineral, yet its importance to overall health and well being cannot be overstated. Iodine is critical for the formation of thyroid hormone. People who have difficulty losing weight even though they eat small portions of health promoting foods are probably short on iodine. Iodine deficiency can lead to dull brittle hair, balding, lack of skin tone, low energy levels, difficulty dealing with environmental temperature change, poor concentration, constipation, depression, and extreme fatigue. And there is one more manifestation of low iodine. Scientists now believe that iodine deficiency plays a role in the development of breast cancer.  Read More.

Drug Abuse Among Seniors is a Rising Problem

Drug Abuse Among Seniors is a Rising Problem
by Luella May

(The Best Years in Life) Illicit drug use in adults age 50 and over is increasing dramatically says a study by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). This includes an alarming incidence of non medical use of prescription drugs among women aged 60 to 64. In part, this increase points to the aging of the baby boomer generation, and reportedly may necessitate the doubling of substance abuse treatment facilities by 2020.

The SAMHSA report, entitled Illicit Drug Use among Older Adults, found that an estimated 4.7% of older adults (4.3 million) have used an illegal drug during the past year. Men 50 and over were almost twice as likely to have used marijuana over the nonmedical use of prescription drugs, although marijuana use does not usually lead to the need for treatment. In men 65 years or older, the use of nonmedical prescription drugs was found to be more common than marijuana use.  Read More.

Diet and Epilepsy - Natural Help for a Vexing Problem

Diet and Epilepsy - Natural Help for a Vexing Problem
Written and compiled by Tony Isaacs

(The Best Years in Life) Over two million people in America have epilepsy or one kind or another - a disorder characterized by recurring seizures.  While most of those who suffer from epilepsy use various medications to attempt to control their seizures, many have found relief in natural diet and other natural treatments.

First of all, let me say that I am NOT a fan of the ketogenic diet approach to epilepsy, such as an Atkins diet or modified diet, except as a last resort.  Despite reports of success and a long history of use, there are also reports of problems and several of it's features run counter to what others recommend for a diet that helps with epilepsy - most important of which is the avoidance of animal protein.  Beyond that, it is my opinion (shared by a great many others) that Atkins was a true pioneer who got a great deal right but his diet was ultimately fatally flawed when the marketing became centered around the simple and unhealthy formula of basically eliminating carbs and eating just about anything else you wanted including junk food and excessive unhealthy fats.  Some carbohydrates are essential for good health and strict adherence to the Atkins  diet will indeed result in weight loss, but if used for any great length of time it may come with the cost of developing chronic problems that can eventually be life shortening if not life threatening.  Read More.

Breathe Clean Purified Air at Home or Work with Plants

Breathe Clean Purified Air at Home or Work with Plants

(The Best Years in Life) The amazing health benefits we derive from eating plants and drinking their juices are just the beginning of the story. Research shows that when we bring plants inside to share our environments, we multiply those benefits exponentially.

Houseplants clean the air we breathe

Many of us think of the indoors as a safe haven from pollution. Yet research has found that the indoor environment may be as much as 500 times more polluted than the outdoor environment, even in major industrialized cities.

Indoor air pollution is linked to allergies and other chronic illnesses. The EPA currently ranks indoor air pollution as one of the top five threats to public health. People today spend as much as 90% of their lives indoors where they are bombarded with chemical emissions from building materials, paint, varnish, glues, dyes, synthetic carpets, household products, chemical fragrances and personal care products. If you have a relatively new house or one that has been recently renovated, your pollution index is probably quite high.  Read More.

The Cancer Industry Does Not Want a Cure

The Cancer Industry Does Not Want a Cure

(The Best Years in LifeIf you've never heard or seen this type of statement before, you have now and you've read it right. The cancer industry destroys or marginalizes safe and effective cures while promoting their patented, expensive, and toxic remedies that do more harm than good.

People who survive cancer from conventional cancer therapies don't survive cancer, they survive the treatments. There's an old saying from the early 20th Century, before the AMA and Big Pharma created their medical mafia: “With eclectic medicine (homeopathy, herbal, etc.), you die from the disease; with allopathic medicine, you die from the cure.”

Dr. Robert Atkins, MD, once announced there are several cures for cancer. But there's no money in them. They're natural, effective, and inexpensive. Raising millions for research to produce an expensive toxic remedy that can be patented and create more illness is the ticket to success and big bucks for those involved with the cancer industry's fake war on cancer.  Read More
