Spicy Avocado Hummus

 

Hummus, which uses healthy garbanzo beans as a base, is the perfect condiment. You can use it as a veggie dip, as a spread for sandwiches, with pita; you name it, it just might surprise you. This version of hummus is flavored with fresh jalapeno and lime juice, and enriched with silky smooth avocado for a protein-rich, good-for-you dip that you can serve in numerous ways!

With the addition of avocados, jalapeños, cilantro and lime to your basic hummus recipe, you would almost think that you are eating guacamole. Bringing the two together is fun twist that will surprise your family and friends and have them coming back for more! If it is too spicy for you or your children consider using only half a jalapeño or removing the membrane and seeds that contain a lot of the spice.
